Department: OMF Engineering
Summary:
Implement new materials, coatings, and processes that enhance or expand our current product lines delighting customers and attracting new business.
Responsibilities (Include, But Not Limited To):
• Conceive and develop new product ideas that can be used to enhance or expand our existing product lines
• Obtain customer specific requirements
• Conduct and support testing of new materials, coatings, and processes to OEM specifications
• Validate manufacturing feasibility of new materials, coatings, and processes
• Specify, manage, and implement capital equipment for newly developed processes/technologies
• Construct program timelines, track program elements, and ensure deliverables are met
• Evaluate suppliers of outside processes used to enhance our product lines
• Conduct risk and cost analysis on new materials, coatings, and processes
• Assess product designs for manufacture and assembly feasibility
• Benchmark and compare various products and designs and develop equivalent or improved solutions
• Analyze products, designs, and new technology for commercial viability
• Create, conduct, analyze, summarize, and communicate the results of designed experiments
• Document and maintain development records as required
• Obtain customer and OEM approval of key program design/material elements
Requirements:
Experience & Education:
• BS or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
• Product design, development, and manufacturing – automotive preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to problem solve
• Strong ability to work with customers, suppliers, and other team members
